African Clean Energy (ACE) was one of the first to offer a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) solar-biomass hybrid cooking stove, capable of charging mobile phones and providing light, whilst using less fuel when cooking. ACE first started manufacturing its hybrid clean cooking stoves in Lesotho in 2014.
ACE was founded in 2013 and first partnered with Oikocredit in 2019.
