Empresta Capital is a provider of financial services to formal and informal micro and small entrepreneurs in the states of São Paulo (particularly in the Metropolitan Region), Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais and Distrito Federal. Empresta Capital was founded in São Paulo in 2004 to offer credit solutions to those deemed to be unbankable.

Today, more than half of Empresta Capital’s clients live in the Metropolitan Region. Thanks to its network of banking correspondents, the organization is able to also offer its services in other cities and states.

Empresta Capital has been operating in the microfinance market for over 10 years and is considered a benchmark in its field. The institution has built up a portfolio of around 6,000 active clients (2015). This has been achieved by a policy of continuous reinvestment, keeping the structure compact and focusing on niche markets that are not covered by traditional Brazilian financial institutions. In 2012 the institution was awarded the most innovative financial institution in Brazil in the microfinance category.

Empresta Capital has been an Oikocredit partner since 2015.
